- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup dates, pitted & cut up
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 12 cups Rice Krispies
- 12 cup nuts, finely chopped
- powdered sugar or shredded coconut or finely chopped nuts or cocoa, to roll the balls in
Directions

1In a large sauce pan, mix sugar, eggs, dates, salt, & butter.

2Cook over medium heat untill thick, stirring constantly.

3Remove from heat.

4Add vanilla, cereal and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.

5Mix well, and allow to cool slightly.

6Form into one inche balls and roll in you choice of powdered sugar, coconut, cocoa or nuts.

7Makes about 2 dozen.

8These freeze well.
