  • 1/2 lb. chopped dates
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. melted margarine

Directions

    Pit dates and cut into quarters.

    Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

    Add dates and nuts to flour mixture. Beat eggs.

    Add melted butter and combine mixtures.

    Bake in 8 x 12-inch pan for 30 minutes at 350°.

    When slightly cool, cut into bars.

    Roll each bar in powdered sugar.
