   Beat egg whites until stiff.

   Add sugar.

   Cook in double boiler until it will stand in points when dropped from spoon. Remove from fire.

   Add nuts, dates and vanilla.

   Drop onto well-greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.

   Bake for 45 minutes in a slow oven (300°).
