- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk (can use undiluted evaporated milk)
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. dates, cut up
- 2 Tbsp. butter/oleo
Directions

1Mix sugar and milk in saucepan. Add cut up dates.

2Boil slowly to soft ball stage.

3Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and nuts.

4Stir until mixture begins to thicken.

5Pour at one end of a cloth dampened with cold water, squeeze water out and roll dough in cloth.

6When cold, unroll and cut the loaf.
