Date Nut Balls

  • 1 c. pitted dates
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
  • 3 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • coconut

Directions

    Combine dates and margarine. Heat over low heat until melted. Add sugar, egg and nuts. Cook 10 minutes over moderate heat. Spread Rice Krispies on a platter. Add vanilla to mixture and pour over Rice Krispies and work together. Make into balls and roll in coconut.
