Date Nut Bread/Fruit Cake

  • 1 12 cups boiling water
  • 1 (10 ounce) package dates
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 12 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 12 cups sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 12 cups flour, sifted
  • cooking spray
  • 1 (32 ounce) package mixed candied fruit
  • 8 ounces candied cherries

    Cut dates and soak in boiling water about 15 minutes.

    Do not use a miker - put all ingredients into bowl, add dates and water.
