- 2 lb. dates, seeded and cut up
- 2 lb. pecan meats, chopped or broken
- 2 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 c. sugar
- 8 eggs, beaten separately
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Sift flour and baking powder over nuts and fruit; mix well, then add sugar.

2Add egg yolks, beaten well.

3Stir vanilla into the yolks.

4Lastly, beat egg whites and mix well.

5Grease pans and line bottoms with paper.

6Fill to top (does not rise much).

7Bake slowly for 2 hours at about 275°.
