  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 3/4 c. sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. enriched flour
  • 2 c. broken pecans
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Add salt to egg whites, beat to stiff foam.

    Sift sugar with flour, add to egg whites, one tablespoon at a time.

    Continue beating until very stiff.

    Fold in nuts, dates and vanilla.

    Drop from teaspoon onto cookie sheet covered with plain paper, shape in fingers; bake in slow oven at 300° for 30 minutes.
