- 1 lb. chopped dates
- 1 heaping qt. chopped pecans
- 1 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1/8 tsp. salt
Directions

1Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, then sift over dates and pecans.

2Melt butter and add with vanilla.

3Mix. Beat egg yolks until smooth.

4Add to butter and vanilla; mix well. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in very gently.

5Pour into greased and lined tube pan.

6Bake at 275° for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
