- 1 lb dates
- 1 cup milk
- 12 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 18 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 pastry shells, baked
- whipped cream, lightly sweetened (for garnish)
Directions

1Cut dates in quarters, remove pits.

2Just barely cover with water and simmer until tender.

3Drain off any excess water.

4Mix egg, milk, sugar, salt and flour together well; add to dates.

5Cook until thick, pour into baked shell and cool in refrigerator.

6When ready to serve, garnish with whipped cream.
