  • pastry for 1 crust pie
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 8 c. sliced apples
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

    Combine flour, sugar, spices and salt.

    Add apples and lemon juice.

    Stir and combine.

    Place in a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

    Dot with butter.

    Roll pastry 1-inch longer than top of pan.

    Cut vents.

    Trim and flute edge just inside of pan.

    Bake at 425° about 50 minutes until pie is brown and apples are tender.
