Deep Dish Cheddar Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 4 c. chopped, cooked chicken
  • 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese or cheese of choice
  • 1 regular can green peas, drained

Directions

    Saute onion in 1/4 cup margarine. Blend in flour and seasonings. Gradually add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add chicken, cheese and peas; mix well.

    Pour into dish and bake at 350° for about 30 minutes. Crust may also be added to top if you like.
