- 9 medium fresh California peaches (3 lb.)
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. toasted almonds, chopped
- pastry for 1-crust pie
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
Directions

1Peel and slice peaches to measure 6 cups.

2In bowl, combine sugar, flour and nutmeg.

3Add peaches, almonds and almond extract. Toss to coat thoroughly.

4Turn into 2-quart casserole dish.

5On lightly floured board, roll out pastry; cut into 1/2-inch wide strips.

6Arrange in lattice fashion over filling, moistening ends of strips and sealing to dish.

7Bake in 425° oven for 40 minutes or until crust is golden.

8Makes 6 to 8 servings.
