- 1 turkey
- peanut oil (enough to cover turkey in fryer)
- salt and cayenne pepper to taste
Directions

1Clean and dry turkey inside and out.

2Using a shaker, cover turkey inside and out with salt and pepper.

3Heat enough oil to cover turkey to 325° to 350°.

4Be careful to choose a pot big enough so that oil does not overflow.

5Cooking outside is the only safe way to do this at home.

6Put bird in pot slowly.

7Fry about 4 minutes per pound, a little longer for bigger birds.

8Test for doneness at thigh joint.
