  • 5 lbs roast beef
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil (original recipe calls for shortening)
  • 2 onions
  • 4 ounces green chilies
  • 1 (16 ounce) bottle green chili sauce (I use La Victoria Salsa Verde Thick and Chunky)
  • 14 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Directions

    Brown roast, then roast in slow cooker or 200 degree oven for 10-12 hours.

    Drain through colander, trim fat (keep drippings).

    Shred meat.

    Heat Oil to med-high and saute onions and green chilies.

    Add salsa, garlic powder, flour, salt, and cumin.

    Cook until thick, then add juices in meat.

    Wrap desired amount of meat in tortillas and fry or bake according to personal taste.
