- 1 lb. beef livers
- 2 large eggs, washed
- 1 c. low-fat cottage cheese
- 1 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 3 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
Directions

1Cut livers into 1-inch chunks and add 1 cup water.

2Bring to a boil, cover and simmer about 5 minutes until no longer pink.

3Drain off liquid and add water to make 1 cup.

4Put livers in food processor; break in eggs (including shells).

5Puree, adding reserved liquid as needed to keep mixture moving.

6Scrape into bowl; mix in remaining ingredients.

7Turn onto board and knead until not sticky.

8Clean board; dust with flour.

9Dust ball of dough with flour.

10Roll out 1/4-inch thick.

11Shape bones by hand or use cookie cutter.

12Bake 1 hour at 300°.

13If not hard when cooled, return to oven and bake 10 minutes longer.

14Store in airtight container or freeze.
