  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup sour milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Cream sugar, butter and then add eggs.

    Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add to mixture.

    Add sour milk and vanilla, and last mix in soda and boiling water.

    This is a very thin batter. Makes 3 layers.

    Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
