- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar substitute
- 2 to 3 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. figs
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. liquid (unsweetened fruit juice, skim milk or coffee)
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. liquid shortening
- 2 to 3 c. dates
- 2 to 3 c. nuts
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients (sift together) and add beaten eggs and oil to dry mixture and juice.

2Then add fruit and nuts.

3Bake in a loaf pan in a 300° oven for 45 minutes.

4This makes 18 slices, each of which equals 1 fat, 1 bread and 1/2 fruit.
