- 4 lb. (4-inch) cucumbers
- 1/4 c. canning salt
- 2 3/4 c. white vinegar
- 12 to 14 sprigs fresh dill
- 1/8 tsp. aluminum
- 14 cloves garlic, peeled and split
- 3 c. water
- 28 peppercorns
Directions

1Cut cucumbers lengthwise or into chunks.

2Combine garlic, salt, vinegar and water; heat to boiling.

3Remove garlic and place 4 pieces in each jar along with 4 sprigs dill and 4 peppercorns. Pour hot vinegar solution on top of cucumbers in jars.

4Leave 1-inch headspace.

5Put alum on top of cucumbers and seal jars. Process 10 minutes as soon as you put in canner.
