Directions

1Sterilize jars and lids.

2Wash cucumbers and slice lengthwise or leave whole if small enough.

3To each quart jar, add 1 teaspoon dill seed and 1 garlic bud.

4Pack cucumbers in jars.

5Bring 2 quarts water, 1 quart vinegar and 1/2 cup salt to a boil.

6Slowly pour boiling liquid into jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.

7Wipe jar rims clean and adjust lids.

8Process in a boiling water bath for 20 minutes.

9These pickles will be ready to eat in about 7 to 10 days.
