  • cucumbers
  • 4 qt. (1 gal.) water
  • 3 c. apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 c. canning salt
  • powdered alum
  • crushed red pepper
  • dill or dill seed
  • garlic

Directions

    Bring water, vinegar and canning salt to a boil.

    Wash cucumbers.
  3. 3
    Drop in enough cucumbers to fill a quart.
  4. 4
    Stir these around when they change color.

    Put into jar.
