Ingredients

  • 1 yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 c. creamy cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. instant dry onion
  • 1 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. dill seed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Soften yeast in warm water.

    Combine in a bowl cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda and egg.

    Mix all these ingredients, then add yeast.

    Add flour.

    Form into ball and let rise until doubled.

    Punch down and put into well-greased casserole, 1 1/2 to 2-quart size.

    Let rise 30 to 40 minutes. Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350°.

    Brush top with butter and sprinkle with salt if desired.
