- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 or 2 tsp. minced onion
- 1 egg (unbeaten)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. dill seed or dry dill weed
- 2 1/4 c. flour or more (up to 2 1/2 days)
Directions

1Fix yeast, first, by combining it in a bowl with the 1/4 cup of warm water.

2Soak for 5 minutes.

3Combine all ingredients in a bowl, adding the yeast and flour to make a stiff dough.

4Work well; cover.

5Let rise until double in size, 30 to 60 minutes. Work down; put in a greased 8-inch loaf pan.

6Let rise until light.

7Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

8Butter the top with soft butter.

9Sprinkle with salt.
