- 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2 tsp. dill seed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 unbeaten egg
Directions

1Combine sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, baking soda and egg with cottage cheese.

2Add yeast mixture to cottage cheese mixture and 2 to 2 1/2 cups flour.

3Beat to make dough stiff.

4Let rise until light and double in size (50 to 60 minutes).

5Stir down, turn into well-greased bread loaf pan or casserole dish.

6Let rise 35 to 40 minutes.

7Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.

8Brush with butter; sprinkle with salt.
