- 4 1/2 to 5 lb. chicken, cut up
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. dill weed
Directions

1Shake chicken pieces in flour, salt and pepper.

2Place skin side down in single layer on baking sheet.

3Dot with shortening. Bake 1/2 hour in 400° oven.

4Turn chicken; baste with combination of melted butter, water and dill.

5Bake another 1/2 hour, basting 2 or 3 times.

6Turn oven off and keep chicken in oven another 40 minutes to crisp.

7Makes 6 servings.
