Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 pkg. dates, chopped
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. Rice Krispies
  • coconut

Directions

    Mix margarine and sugar; add beaten egg and chopped dates. Cook together over low heat until dissolved.

    Add one cup chopped pecans.

    Cook 10 minutes longer, stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat; add vanilla and stir.

    Add four cups Rice Krispies.

    Mix well; form into small ball.

    Roll in flaked coconut.

    Powdered sugar can be used if you want instead of coconut.

    Can be made in advance and refrigerated or even frozen for days.
