Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. warm water

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Mix with rest of ingredients. Let rise until about doubled.

    Punch dough down.

    In muffin pan, place dough in each cup or 3 small balls in each for cloverleaf rolls.

    This can also be baked in a loaf pan for bread.

    Bake at 325° until tops are golden.
