Dirty Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 c. rice, cooked
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. gizzards
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. celery
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh minced parsley
  • 1 can or 8 oz. chicken broth
  • salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste
  • pinch of thyme and sweet basil

Directions

    Saute ground beef in butter.

    Saute gizzards in separate pan; set aside.

    Saute onions, celery, pepper and seasonings in remaining butter.

    Combine with rice and other ingredients. Moisten with chicken broth.

    Cook 20 to 30 minutes, stirring often.
