   Mix sugar, syrup and water.

   Cook until mixture forms a firm ball in cold water.

   Beat egg whites.

   Add syrup mixture slowly. Keep beating until mixture is cool.

   Add vanilla and nuts.

   Drop from spoon on waxed paper.
