  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Use 1 (2-quart) and 1 (1-quart) heavy pans and a candy thermometer.

    In the large pan, put 3 cups sugar, white corn syrup and 1 cup water.

    Let boil to 260° (hard ball stage).

    In the small pan, put 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water.

    Let boil to 238° (soft ball stage).
  6. 6
    Start cooking larger pan first.
