Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. white Karo syrup
  • 2/3 c. cold water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. nuts (if desired)

Directions

    Cook sugar, syrup and water to soft ball stage, 238°.

    Pour very slowly over the egg whites which have been beaten until stand up in peaks.

    Continue beating until hard enough to drop from a spoon (it will lose its glossy look).
  4. 4
    Add vanilla, right after, start beating and nuts after beating, just before dropping from spoon.
