Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 2/3 c. corn syrup
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cook sugar, syrup, water and salt in saucepan (I use a number 8 large skillet).

    Do not stir after sugar is dissolved.

    Cook until boiling syrup, when dropped from spoon in cold water, forms a hard, almost brittle ball (265° by thermometer).

    Remove from fire.
