- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. white Karo syrup
- 1/3 c. water
- 2 egg whites, well beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/3 c. walnut halves (optional)
Directions

1Pour sugar, syrup and water in a pan.

2Boil until it spins a thread or forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water.

3Remove from heat, then fold in a little of the egg whites.

4Repeat until you have used all the egg whites.

5Add vanilla and chopped nuts, if desired.

6Beat until mixture becomes stiff.

7Pour into greased pan or dish immediately.

8Garnish with walnuts, if desired.

9Cool.
