Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 pkg. caramels
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 6 oz. pecans
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts or candied cherries

Directions

    Cook together sugar, syrup and water until hard ball forms. Fold in egg whites.

    Beat egg whites with syrup mixture.

    Bring to boil over medium heat, then beat to very hard and stiff stage, about 7 minutes.

    Make a roll of this mixture.

    Spread caramels, water and pecans over roll.
