- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. corn syrup (light)
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- food coloring
Directions

1Blend sugar, corn syrup and water in medium sized saucepan. Cook over high heat, without stirring, until a teaspoon of syrup dropped in cold water forms a soft ball; remove from heat.

2In a large bowl, beat egg whites until they form stiff peaks.

3Pour 1/3 syrup on egg whites.

4Cook remaining syrup fast over high heat until a teaspoon dropped into cold water forms a hard ball.

5Pour in fine steam over egg white mixture, beating constantly.

6Add vanilla; continue to beat until candy is very stiff and forms peaks that do not flatten out.

7Swirl on wax paper.
