  • 1 pkg. Fleischmann's yeast
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 c. potato water, cool
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. melted shortening
  • 1/2 c. mashed potatoes
  • flour

Directions

    Mix yeast in the cold water, add the cup of potato water, then add egg, sugar, salt, shortening and mashed potatoes.

    Mix well. Then add flour to make a stiff dough, by stirring with spoon.

    Set overnight in refrigerator.

    Make out in rolls, let rise, cook in 425° oven until brown (about 15 minutes).
