- 3 to 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 Large eggs
Directions

1Combine 2 c. flour and yeast in mixing bowl and set aside.

2Place lowfat milk, sugar, shortening, and salt in saucepan and heat till just hot.

3(Shortening won't be completely melted.)

4Remove from heat and add in to flour.

5Add Large eggs.

6Stir till well combined.

7Gradually add remaining flour till stiff dough forms.

8Remove from bowl and place on lightly floured surface.

9Knead for 3 min.

10Place in lightly greased bowl, turning once to coat surface lightly.

11Let rise till it doubles in size.

12Punch down; let rise again.

13Divide dough in half.

14Roll out 1/2 inch thick.

15Cut with a flour dusted donut cutter.

16Deep fry for approximately 1 minute; turn for another minute.

17Donuts need to drain on a wire rack with paper toweling underneath to absorb the oil.

18Cold and dip in glaze or possibly roll in powdered sugar.
