Dot's Easy Coconut Cake

- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 14 oz. coconut
- 1 container whipped topping
Directions

1Prepare cake mix and bake in 13x9-inch banking pan according to cake mix box instructions (usually about 35-40 minutes at 350F).

2When cake tests done, remove cake from oven and poke holes in cake with wooden spoon handle.

3Cook sugar, milk, 1/2 of coconut until sugar melts.

4Pour over warm cake.

5When cool, frost with whipped topping and remaining coconut.

6Refrigerate.

7Even better if made 1 - 2 days ahead.
