Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. baking cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2/3 c. margarine, melted and divided
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda.

    Add 1/3 cup of melted butter.

    Add boiling water; stir until well blended. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining butter or margarine.

    Add flour, vanilla and salt.

    Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips.

    Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool.
