- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients in large mixing bowl.

2Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla.

3Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.

4Remove from mixer and stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

5Pour into 2 greased and floured layer pans or one 13 x 9-inch pan.

6Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes for layers, 35 to 40 minutes for the 13 x 9-inch pan or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7Cool 10 minutes.
