  • 13 cup salad oil
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate (2 squares)
  • 34 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 14 cups all-purpose flour
  • 34 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 34-1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 13 cup walnut pieces or 13 cup pecans

Directions

    In an 8 inch square cake pan, combine oil and chocolate.

    Heat in 350F oven for 4 minutes -- stir.

    Add water, sugar, egg, flour, soda, salt and vanilla.

    Beat batter with fork until smooth, uniform and creamy (about 2 mins).

    Spread evenly in pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.

    Bake at 350F for 40 mins until cake tests done.

    Great topped with whipped cream flavoured with creme de menthe.
