Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8 each hamburger buns
- 3 tablespoons other recipe hamburger sauce, per patty (see below)
- lettuce shredded
- american cheese
- pickles, dill optional
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chili sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup dill relish do not drain
- 1 dash garlic salt
Directions

1Divide ground chuck into 8 equal portions and shape into patties, keeping each quite thin.

2Sear briskly on lightly greased hot grill or griddle, turning only once, until medium well.

3Arrange each patty on bottom half of hamburger buns.

4Apply 2 or 3 tablespoons of Hamburger Sauce to each patty and then arrange a little shredded lettuce over each.

5Place one atop the other and a slice of American cheese over the top patty.

6Apply top of hamburger bun and serve at once.

7Makes 4 double-deckers.

8HAMBURGER SAUCE: Stir all ingredients together with fork.

9Refrigerate in covered container to use within 2 weeks.

10Makes about 2 cups.
