- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
- 1/3 c. butter or margarine
- 1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- Orange Butter
Directions

1Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir well.

2Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.

3Add oranges, milk and egg, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a heavily floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.

4Pat dough into a 6-inch circle on a greased baking sheet.

5Cut into 8 wedges; separate wedges slightly.

6Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.

7Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.

8Yields 8 scones.
