- 1 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. flour
Directions

1Cream the butter.

2Add 1/2 of the sugar.

3Beat the eggs very light; add the remainder of the sugar.

4Combine the 2 mixtures; add the milk.

5Stir together the baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg with the flour and add to the mixture with enough more flour to handle, having the dough as soft as possible.

6Toss on a floured board and knead lightly.

7Roll to 1/4-inch thickness and cut with a doughnut cutter.

8Fry in hot fat; drain on brown paper.
