Ingredients

  • 4 c. sugar
  • 4 oz. grated unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 Tbsp. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 to 2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 1/3 c. Dr. Pepper

Directions

    Put first 4 ingredients in saucepan.

    Cook slowly, stirring constantly until sugar and chocolate are dissolved.

    Continue on low-medium heat until 236° or soft ball.

    Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm (110°).

    Add butter and vanilla.

    Beat until it loses its shine.

    Add nuts; pour into buttered square pan.

    Cool and cut into squares.
