- 1 13 cups flour
- 14 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 cup shortening
- 34 cup evaporated milk
Directions

1Sift together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2Using a food processor, pulse in the shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.

3Stir in the evaporated milk just until mixed.

4Line a baking sheet with parchment.

5Drop scone-size scoops (1 oz) onto the parchment.

6If desired, apply an egg glaze, or sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.

7Place tray of scones in the freezer.

8Preheat oven to 425F Once preheated, transfer the scones directly to the top oven rack.

9Bake 10-12 minutes.
