Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. mixed coconut, butterscotch and chocolate bits (don't exceed 1 c.)
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    In a double boiler stir over boiling water, butter, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs and salt to keep eggs from cooking in lumps. As soon as butter melts, remove from hot water.

    Stir in flour, baking soda, 1 cup of mixed bits and nuts.

    Pour into greased 8 x 13 x 2-inch pan and bake at 325° for 40 minutes.

    When cool cut in bars.

    Serves 12.
