- 3 cans kraut
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 c. grated potatoes
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. bacon
Directions

1Wash kraut one can at a time.

2Chop onion and add to kraut. Put in a heavy pot and cover.

3Add water just to top off kraut and boil on medium heat for 4 to 5 hours.

4You may have to add more water while cooking.

5Cook down dry.

6Grate potatoes.

7When kraut is cooked dry, place potatoes on top of kraut.

8Fry bacon.

9Pour hot bacon grease over kraut and potatoes.

10Crumble bacon on top of kraut and potatoes and simmer for about 30 minutes.

11Delicious with dried beans and corn bread.
