- 1/4 c. melted lard
- 1 1/2 qt. warm water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast, prepared in water-sugar mix
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
- flour to make nice dough
Directions

1Mix first 4 ingredients, then add flour to thicken slightly. Add the next 3 ingredients and mix.

2Add flour until right for punching.

3Lard sides of pan.

4Knead a few minutes more.

5Let rise 2 times.

6Make into large 3-inch buns.

7Let raise.

8Bake at 350° and let cool.

9Slice each bun in 2 or 3 slices.

10Dry in low oven until crisp.
