- 1 1/2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 egg white, beaten with a little water to make glaze
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 to 4 1/2 c. divided, sifted flour
- melted butter
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water and set aside.

2Bring milk almost to a boil, remove from heat and add butter, sugar and salt.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Pour into a bowl with 1 cup of the flour and yeast mixture.

5Mix well, then gradually add as much of the flour as needed to form a soft, but not sticky dough.
